Next, we moved on to backgrounds, trying to communicate the setting in a very simple way. This is harder than it looks. I was tempted to go with a 2-D look like "Cathy" after finding my grasp of perpective to be lousy. Beyond that, I also found my backgrounds automatically heightened my characters because I was drawing the chairs and stoves at full-size. I never got around to figuring out how to solve that problem.
