And then it was time to feast! We made a whole big meal just for us it's a rare treat to have more than one dish at a time. We even ate our actual table instead of on trays at our bed. There was no end to the elegance look at the cloth napkins! Crepes a la Lansingh filled with sauteed mushrooms and steamed broccoli, topped with Hollandaise sauce. And for dessert/salad (well, we still combined courses), we had a delicious Jell-O salad that we had first sampled at Shirlee & Dan Gouwens' house at a Brainstorming meeting. I emailed Shirlee to ask for the recipe. That Sunday, Dan brought a heavy grocery bag into church they had bought us all the ingredients, too! Now that's hospitality! So we didn't feel lonely, even though it was a nice, quiet Christmas.
