We let the gerbils out for brief tastes of freedom in the bathroom. We block under the door with a towel, pick up anything toxic, and then let them loose. They love running around and exploring. This is with our free digital camera, which is notoriously bad. That's Rando inspecting a box. The hard part, of course, is luring them back into captivity when I get tired of sitting on the toilet with my feet up out of the way so I don't squash them, watching them scurry.
