AT HOME IN INDIANA
Kim Eades, a friend from the Crossroads praise team, invited me to sing at her wedding in October 2001. I sang two songs, neither of which I'd ever sung in public. My accompanist didn't make it to the wedding rehearsal, and my cues on the wedding day were mixed up. At the second verse of one song, I blanked on the words. I sang, "Uhn, ahn, uhn" for a few lines then skipped back to the first verse's lyrics. When I sat down and hissed to Steve, "I completely forgot the words," he said, "I thought you weren't enunciating very well on that one part." Kim didn't seem to notice and sailed through radiantly. Thank goodness for bridal serenity! (This was brought to you as an advertisement for my services as a wedding singer. Feel free to contact me for any of your ceremonial needs.)
