The ceremony was held at Mayflower Congregational Church in Kingston, Massachusetts. It's hard to find pictures to illustrate the whole ceremony, so here are some elements: Steve & I put together the ceremony form ourselves, combining traditional wordings and our own vows. Pastors Jeff Lynk (an old family friend from the Caldwells' time in Berlin) and John Eklund (the Caldwells' pastor in Massachusetts) performed the ceremony. Christie Lynk played the piano, with Bob Ferrante on the trumpet, and there were solos by Jeff and Christie Lynk, Kelly (the maid of honor), and me, with a song I wrote for Steve. The most important thing in the ceremony for us was keeping Christ at the center, with meaningful Bible readings, hymns, traditional wedding passages, and Holy Communion, tying the whole experience to God and all the brides and grooms of the church who have married before us. We also emphasized family, with the lighting of unity candles and the participation of all our family members (minus Greg, Steve's brother, who was unfortunately still in China), and sought the community's blessing on and participation in our marriage. We hope you still rejoice with us and will continue to enjoy and encourage our marriage as we enjoy and encourage you!
