Around the same time, we met a fellow online film critic. Mike Leary had done some writing for TheFilmForum.com, and Steve found out they both lived in Chicago — for now. So we got together for dinner (Mexican) and a movie (of course — we saw Waking Life), and Steve wanted a photo for the staff page of his site. After snapping this one, Steve said he should probably take another, just in case. And Mike said, "Oh, no, I believe in serendipity." As Steve says, serendipity doesn't believe in Mike.
