EUROPE, APRIL-MAY '01: THE LAKE DISTRICT, ENGLAND
That biggish boat to the right of the pier (outside our hostel) is the tour boat we took. We had money that Steve's boss at The Bible League (also Steve) was kind enough to give us to use on frivolous adventures poor travelers otherwise can't afford. He said he and his wife toured Europe when they were around our age and said, "We don't have to go up the Eiffel Tower. We've been up tall buildings before. We can guess what it looks like"; "We can imagine what it's like to be in a gondola. We don't need to pay for it"; etc. They've never been back, so he wanted to make sure we had some extra cash for whenever we decided we couldn't do something because of budget constraints.
