We very Frenchily ordered Camembert and Swiss cheese sandwiches on baguettes with onion soup -- no point calling it French onion here. Notice our suitcase beside us. We couldn't find a locker (consignee automatique -- I looked for the signs) in the train station, so we wheeled it along with us the whole day! We stuffed plastic bags along the tops of the pockets so the rain wouldn't soak all our belongings. Unfortunately, we didn't extend our caution far enough. We didn't finish the whole Camembert sandwich, so Steve wrapped it in napkins and placed it in the top of his backpack, above his towel. His towel smelled like disgusting cheese for the rest of the trip, despite all our airing efforts.
