The only glitch with our hotel, which was rather new, was that the elevators only occasionally functioned. We ended up lugging our computers and luggage in several trips up the stairs the first day. It wasn't an elevator that you'd necessarily miss the use of, however. When it did work, it clunked its way up and down, jerking at each floor and doing a little hop into place when it stopped, causing the inhabitants to eye each other with nervous smiles and locate the emergency buttons, just in case. We grew familiar with the sight of this repair truck.
