SHARON LANSINGH, SEPTEMBER '02
We took this picture of the Experience Music Project building (with monorail heading out) on our trip with Rob & Kirstin, but this day we actually got to go inside. Out of respect for 9-11, we guess, they were handing out free tickets. (Combat terrorism through viewing Michael Jackson's gloves?) Basically, it's a pop-music museum, with a current exhibit of famous artifacts from stars and, ostensibly, opportunities to participate in the music-making process with various recording booths, mixing equipment, and instruments to play. However, due possibly to the free entrée, all the do-it-yourself options were hopelessly crowded. We settled for pretending to be rock stars in a lame-o fake concert with a screen of screaming fans and instruments that played themselves. We didn't buy the poster, but our band is Invisible Robot Fish — only not really, because that was too long to fit in their computers. So it was shorter than that, but, still, look for us in stores! We rock!
