We visited the Hiram Chittenden Locks in the Scandinavian neighborhood of Ballard to watch the boats pass through and see if any salmon were swimming upstream. L to R: Kim, Dad with Alex, Mom. Alex was quite the catch — we kept passing her around, to the extent that Kim said she felt guiltily carefree.
