CLASSES: BUCKRAM HATMAKING—JULY '02
We decided how wide our brims would be and selected circular or oval brim patterns, which we traced on a flat piece of buckram. In this case, we didn't wet the buckram to activate the glue — it was fine flat.

We sewed a wire around the edge to keep it from flopping. Note that you always have to keep track of where center front and back are by marking them. To close the wire, we used pliers, glue, and a crimp.
