I made sure to pack a selection of decorations in the car, and I sent our gifts to family early so I wouldn't have to pack wrapping paper (although we did bring an emergency supply, which came in handy). The Lynks supplied us with a German Advent calendar, and we bought beautiful red tulips at the grocery store across the street. So, even though it was a hotel room, it was festive!
