MOVING TO SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
This plant is a survivor. A hardy mum indeed, it's been moved from Illinois to Massachusetts, Massachusetts up through Canada to Michigan then down to Indiana in the withering heat of summer (we'd get back from rest stops with a bottle of water and blast the air conditioning on it to get it to perk up again), and now from Indiana to Washington. And in between I often forget to water it. At one point, I was contemplating throwing it out, all brown, dry sticks, but I was putting it off. The next time I looked (not watering it this whole time), a green shoot had sprung up from the middle. And now look — even stuck in a box, it blooms! This plant could teach us things.
