ADVENTURES IN SEATTLE: SAM, OCT. '02
We won passes to a premiere of the film Frida at the Seattle Art Museum, with a sneak preview of their Mexican Modernism exhibit. They had a Mexican band and free guacamole and chips. We accepted the audio-tour headphones and were the last to leave. Later, we returned on one of their free first Thursdays of the month to see the rest of the museum. I was particularly interested in an exhibit on adorning a Maasai bride, because I was designing a Bible study cover for the Bible League and wanted to pick appropriate colors. The exhibit listed what bead colors mean to the Maasai and explained what they consider good design — even more helpful than I'd hoped!
