We saw Liberty Island through the fog and had the opportunity to take the ferry over, but we wouldn't have had time to see all of Ellis Island if we had. It was very cold out, and the Statue of Liberty was closed to visitors due to security (again), so we would have been wandering outside for close to an hour until the next ferry. We decided to enjoy our distant glimpse instead. (We've had practice.)
