Below the castle is a rocky beach, although we were never quite hot enough to try full-out swimming.

We did explore the cool and clammy environs of a nearby cave. It's funny, but we actually did get sunburned on one of our first days in Tintagel, despite sunblock and hats. Only the truly pale can boast a sunburn from southern England.
