Our intended stop after Oxford was Cornwall, a beautiful coastal area in southwest England with high cliffs, blue sea, and the softest grass imaginable. But foot-and-mouth disease, rampant in the countryside only, closed most of the hostels, so we contented ourselves with a train ride through the scenery and then headed back north to a city. We chose Bath.
