Brandenburger Tor. Unfortunately, it was under renovation so it was covered with canvas that, as you can see, was painted to look like the gate! But at least it wasn't blocked off I'd never been able to get close to it before because the Wall cut it off from us.
Story: We parked really close to the Gate, in bus parking (with other cars), because there was no other parking nearby. When we got back, the car was towed. In Germany they don't take your car to a tow yard; they move it to a legal parking space nearby, and you have to find a cop to ask where that might be. Then they mail you a bill. We could find no Polizei, so we walked first to where they thought the car would be (based on past experience being towed), then some other possibilities, and finally all the way to the Bundespraesident's place to ask the guards there to call and find out. This was like stopping at the White House to ask the Secret Service where your car was towed. We were very appreciative that Juliane & Stefan would get their car towed just for us!
