EUROPE, APRIL-MAY '01: BERLIN, GERMANY
Schloss Charlottenburg
Here, I copied part of this from the Berlin tourism site: Friedrich III built this palace as a summer residence for his beloved spouse, Sophie Charlotte. After her death in 1705, Frederic renamed it Charlottenburg in her memory. Badly damaged in World War II air raids, the palace was reconstructed. Juliane & Stefan say they particularly like the gardens for wandering through in fine weather.
