I had photocopied out of a library book (so cost-efficient) a Rick Steves walking tour of London, so we tried to follow it while the paper was getting mercilessly rained on. Glad it wasn't a real book, actually, but it made it hard to read and for Steve to hear me. Here's Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, one of our first stops, and my trusty Gore-tex jacket, a fast friend. Steve & I decided we'd need waterproof jackets eventually for Seattle, so we snapped them up when we found them on sale after Christmas and saved them especially for the trip.
